Breann and Eric met the modern way: by swiping right on Bumble. In May of 2018, she messaged him first, and the conversation flowed effortlessly. Their conversations were full of shared interests and a mutual sense of humor. After days of texting, they decided to meet in person. Little did they know that this simple gesture would be the beginning of something extraordinary.
Their first date was at the Double Wide Grill in Southside, a spot that would become a cherished memory. Eric arrived first and saw Breann from across the street. He flashed her a pair of finger guns in a moment of spontaneity. Breann found it adorably funny, while Eric immediately thought, "Why did I even do that?" When they finally met, Eric's first words were, "Hi, I think the restaurant is closed." Breann, slightly confused, replied, "Oh, I just drove past, and I thought it looked open!" Eric, shrugging off the mishap, said, "Well then, Google must have lied to me." This humorous and light-hearted exchange set the tone for their relationship.
That evening, they shared a meal, laughter, and endless conversation. It felt as though they had known each other forever. From that day forward, Breann and Eric have been inseparable, spending every day together and building a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Breann and Eric's journey to engagement was a beautiful blend of spontaneity and heartfelt intention, perfectly capturing their love for one another.
It was New Year’s Day, and they had spent the evening at Eric’s parents’ house for dinner and drinks. When it was time to leave, Eric suddenly announced, "Oh wait, I have to go to the bathroom." Breann didn't think much of it at all. In reality, Eric was retrieving the ring he had been keeping at his parent’s house. He decided this was the perfect moment and was ready to propose!
As they drove home, Eric, unable to contain his nervous excitement, broached the subject of his impending proposal. "When I propose to you," he asked, "do you want it to be in front of a bunch of people or just us two?" Breann responded with her characteristic warmth and support. "Whatever you feel comfortable with," she said, smiling. "If it's in front of everybody, that's fine, or if it's just us, that's fine too. I'm going to be happy no matter what."
Eric's nervousness was palpable, and he kept seeking reassurance throughout the drive. Each time, Breann reassured him with love and confidence, "Yes, everything will be okay."
As they pulled into the parking lot of their apartment, the moment had arrived. They stepped out of the car, and Eric could no longer wait. He turned to Breann and dropped to one knee. "I'm so sorry I should have done this sooner," he began, his voice filled with emotion. "I love you, and I don't want to go into 2024 without you. Will you marry me?"
Breann's heart soared, and without hesitation, she exclaimed, "YES!!"
As the snow was coming down, the night air was filled with their joy as they embraced, both feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness and excitement for their future together!
